1. Local media and editing data
QShot stores recordings and their audio, clips, thumbnails, projects, tag sets, marker timestamps, edit decisions, custom tag images, camera preferences, and shooting locations locally on your device. QShot does not sync projects, recordings, clips, shooting locations, or tag sets to your account in the current version.
Copies you choose to save to Apple Photos are managed by Photos. Deleting QShot does not automatically delete copies already saved there.
2. Optional account information
Core recording, tagging, reviewing, and editing features can be used without an account. If you choose to sign in, QShot processes your email address or Apple relay address, account identifier, and any account name supplied by Apple or Google solely to authenticate and secure your QShot account.
Your profile, avatar, projects, recordings, clips, shooting locations, tag sets, and editing data remain on this device and are not synced to your account in the current version. Account information is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
3. Device permissions
- Camera: displays the live preview and records video.
- Microphone: records sound with video when audio is enabled.
- Photos: saves recordings or exports you choose to keep and lets you select media, tag images, or QR images you choose to import.
- Location while using the app: optionally records a shooting location to group nearby recordings into the same local project. QShot does not track your location in the background or sync shooting locations to your account.
- Local network: connects to QShot Studio on a nearby device when you choose to transfer tag timelines over the same Wi-Fi network.
- Motion sensors: may support camera-interface orientation and visual motion effects. Raw motion readings are not uploaded.
You can deny or later revoke permissions in iOS Settings. Related features may then be unavailable, while unrelated local features remain usable where technically possible.
4. Beta diagnostics and support
When QShot is distributed through TestFlight, Apple may make crash reports, performance information, installation/session metrics, and feedback you submit available to us under Apple's TestFlight and privacy terms. We use this information only to diagnose defects, improve reliability, and respond to beta feedback.
Diagnostic information may include the QShot version, device model, iOS version, error details, and the steps or comments you choose to provide. We do not intentionally include your original photos or videos in diagnostics. If a support issue requires a sample file, we will ask before you send it.
5. Website analytics and beta requests
The QShot website uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate visits and improve the site. Google may process information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device/browser type, referral source, and measurement cookies or similar identifiers. Website analytics are separate from the QShot iOS app and are not used to track you across apps for advertising.
You can limit website analytics through browser cookie controls, content blockers, or Google's available opt-out tools. Blocking analytics does not affect QShot app functionality.
If you voluntarily request TestFlight access through the website, QShot collects the email address you provide and your consent to process the request. Your name, filming use case, and note are optional. The request also records the page language, signup entry point, page path, and—when present in the link—UTM campaign attribution. These details are stored on a QShot-controlled server and used only to review your request, send beta access when available, and communicate essential beta-related updates. They are not added to a general marketing list.
6. Sharing and service providers
QShot does not sell personal information and does not use it for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising. Media leaves QShot only when you direct the app to save, export, share, or transfer it.
Apple and Google process sign-in information under their own privacy policies when you choose their sign-in service. Supabase hosts limited QShot account authentication records on QShot's behalf. Apple provides TestFlight distribution and related beta services. These providers may process information in countries other than your own and are used only for the requested functionality, security, diagnostics, deletion, and support.
Information may also be disclosed when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users, QShot, or others.
7. Retention and deletion
Local media and editing data remain on your device until you delete them, clear generated media, erase the device, or uninstall QShot. Copies in Photos remain until you delete them from Photos.
Optional account information is retained while the account is active and only as long as reasonably necessary for account security, legal obligations, and dispute resolution. You can permanently delete your QShot account in Settings → Account management → Delete account. This does not delete your Apple ID or Google Account and does not delete local media on your device. Deletion from routine encrypted backups may take additional time until those backups are overwritten.
TestFlight request details are retained only while reasonably needed to administer the beta program and related access, then deleted or de-identified. You may ask us to remove a beta request at any time.
See the account deletion guide or email support@qshot.one.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, know about, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal information; obtain a portable copy; withdraw consent; appeal a decision; or complain to a privacy authority.
QShot does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may exercise applicable rights without unlawful discrimination. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
To make a request, email support@qshot.one.
9. Children and recording others
QShot is not directed to children below the minimum age required to consent to digital services in their country. A parent or legal guardian must authorize account use where required.
You are responsible for obtaining permission required before recording, tagging, editing, or sharing another person, especially a minor, and for following venue, school, team, and event rules.
10. Security, changes, and contact
QShot uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including iOS app isolation, encrypted network connections for optional online services, and access controls appropriate to the feature. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
We may update this policy when QShot's features or legal obligations change. Where required, material changes will be presented before they take effect. QShot is operated by the developer identified on its App Store product page.
