QShot does not sell personal information, does not use advertising trackers, and does not track your activity across other companies' apps or websites for advertising.
1. Media and editing data on your device
QShot keeps your original recordings and audio, imported media, clips, thumbnails, working files, projects, reels, tag sets, primary and secondary markers, editing choices, text, stickers, music selections, keyframes, custom tag images, camera preferences, shooting locations, and supported external-camera timing information on your device.
Copies you save to Apple Photos are managed by Photos and must be deleted there separately. Removing QShot does not automatically delete copies already saved to Photos.
2. Global edition accounts and cloud sync
Core capture, tagging, review, editing, and export work without an account. If you sign in to the Global edition, QShot receives the email address or Apple relay address, account identifier, and name made available by Apple or Google. Profile details you choose to add, such as your display name, avatar, bio, contact details, and tag color, are linked to your QShot account.
The Global edition may sync:
- Profile and avatar information.
- Tag sets, tag definitions, timing choices, and the active capture-tag arrangement.
- Groups, members, roles, announcements, invitations, join requests, friends, and inbox items.
- Project and recording metadata, including title, times, file name, Photos asset identifier, duration, resolution, frame rate, audio status, orientation, and shooting location.
- Marker timestamps, tag snapshots, clip ranges, notes, ratings, pause events, and distribution records.
Ordinary cloud sync does not automatically upload your original recording files or local editing workspace.
3. China edition feedback and support
The China edition does not offer QShot accounts, cloud sync, Groups, friends, or cloud distribution.
When you send feedback in the China edition, QShot sends the message, any phone number you choose to provide, a random reply token stored in iOS Keychain, the app version and build, distribution edition, iOS version, device model, and language or region setting to QShot Support. The token lets the app receive and reply to the same support conversation without creating an account. Replies are retrieved when you open or refresh the feedback inbox.
This information is used to answer you, investigate problems, prevent abuse, and improve QShot. It is not used for advertising.
4. Device permissions and connected hardware
QShot requests permissions only when needed:
- Camera: displays the live preview, records video, and scans a QShot Studio pairing code when you choose to connect.
- Microphone: records sound with video when audio is enabled.
- Photos: imports video or tag images and saves recordings or exports you choose to keep.
- Location while using the app: optionally labels and groups nearby recordings. Apple Location Services may process a location to provide a place name. QShot does not continuously track your location in the background.
- Local network: connects to QShot Studio on the same network when you choose that workflow.
- Motion sensors: support orientation, leveling, and camera controls. Raw motion readings are not uploaded.
- External cameras and accessories: supported connections exchange camera status, commands, file names, recording state, and timing information needed for the connection.
You can deny or later revoke permissions in iOS Settings. Related features may then be unavailable, while unrelated features remain usable where technically possible.
5. Diagnostics and TestFlight
QShot stores Apple MetricKit crash and performance reports on your device. When a new report is found, QShot asks before preparing an email in the Global edition or an upload through QShot Support in the China edition. Nothing is sent without your confirmation.
Diagnostics may include the QShot and iOS versions, device model, crash stacks, error details, and related system information. QShot does not intentionally include videos, audio, tag text, precise location, or account content in diagnostic reports.
If you use a TestFlight build, Apple may separately provide crash reports, performance information, installation or session metrics, and feedback you voluntarily submit under Apple's TestFlight and privacy terms.
6. Saving, sharing, transfer, and distribution
Media leaves QShot only when you choose to save, export, share, distribute, or transfer it. The destination selected through the iOS share sheet controls the copy it receives.
QShot Studio receives project and tag-timeline information over the local network only after you connect it.
In the Global edition, when you distribute clips to Group members, QShot uploads the rendered video collection and delivery details to secure object storage so the intended recipients can receive it. Signing in or enabling sync does not by itself upload your original recordings.
7. Service providers and international processing
Depending on the edition and features you choose:
- Apple and Google process sign-in information under their own privacy terms.
- Supabase provides Global edition account authentication and stores synced profile, Group, friend, project, recording, tag, marker, inbox, and distribution metadata.
- Cloudflare provides object storage for rendered videos you choose to distribute.
- Apple provides Photos, Location Services, TestFlight, and diagnostic services.
- QShot's China support service receives feedback, replies, and diagnostics you choose to submit.
Providers may process information in countries other than your own. They may use it only to provide, secure, support, or comply with the requested service, not for QShot advertising. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users, QShot, or others.
8. Retention and deletion
Local data remains until you delete it in QShot, remove the app, or erase the device. Photos copies remain until you delete them in Photos.
In the Global edition, synced data is kept while your account is active and as reasonably needed for delivery, security, support, legal obligations, and dispute resolution. Distributed video files are kept as needed to complete and manage delivery. You can permanently delete your QShot account in Settings > Account management > Delete account. This does not delete your Apple ID or Google Account or local media on your device. Protected backup copies may remain until routine backups are overwritten.
In the China edition, feedback conversations and diagnostics you submit are kept only as reasonably needed to reply, investigate problems, prevent abuse, improve reliability, and meet legal obligations. A random support reply token is stored securely in iOS Keychain so the app can reconnect to your conversation. Contact support@qshot.one to request deletion of submitted support information.
9. Your rights and choices
You can use core capture, tagging, review, editing, and export without an account or location access. You can revoke permissions in iOS Settings and decide whether to sign in, sync, connect QShot Studio, distribute media, or send feedback.
Global edition users can edit synced information, leave Groups, remove friends, delete local content, and delete their QShot account. China edition users can edit or delete local content and request deletion of submitted support information.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know about, access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing; obtain a portable copy; withdraw consent; appeal a decision; or complain to a privacy authority. QShot does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
To make a request, email support@qshot.one.
10. Children and recording other people
QShot is not directed to children below the minimum age required to consent to digital services in their country or region. A parent or legal guardian must authorize account use where required.
You are responsible for obtaining permission required before recording, tagging, editing, distributing, or sharing another person, especially a minor, and for following venue, school, Group, team, and event rules.
11. Website analytics and TestFlight requests
The QShot website uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate visits and improve the site. Google may process pages viewed, approximate location derived from an IP address, device or browser type, referral source, and measurement cookies or similar identifiers. Website analytics are separate from the QShot iOS app and are not used for cross-app advertising.
If you request TestFlight access through the website, QShot collects the email address and consent you provide. Name, filming use case, and notes are optional. The request may also record page language, signup entry point, page path, and campaign attribution contained in the link. These details are used only to administer beta access and essential beta-related communication, not a general marketing list.
12. Security, changes, and contact
QShot uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including iOS app isolation, encrypted network connections, and access controls appropriate to the feature. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
We may update this policy when QShot's features or legal obligations change. Where required, material changes will be presented before they take effect. QShot is operated by the developer identified on its App Store product page.
